Hello, my name is Deb, I have been a carer for over 31 years. doing support/adoption/shared lives carer. from 2004 to 2019 i became a shared lives carer. i enjoyed providing care from my own home as a shared lives carer, supporting vulnerable children/adults with mental health issues and lone living issues. it was challenging and a great experience. after 15 years as a shared lives carer i am now a live-in carer and have been for 3 years. I am a friendly and caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. My motivation for caring has always been to help people lead independent lives.
Over the years, I have developed various attributes that make me an excellent home carer. I am attentive, patient, and compassionate. My clients have always appreciated my willingness to listen and my love for what I do. I am also skilled in providing eating and drinking assistance, medication reminders, assistance with dressing, moving, and handling, as well as bathing.
I have experience in caring for clients with poor or declining mobility, bedbound patients, those dealing with anxiety and depression, and even those with mild cognitive impairment. When I'm not caring for my clients, I enjoy taking walks, playing card games, cooking and baking, solving puzzles, and practicing yoga. I am perfectly okay with pets, including cats, dogs, fish, and rabbits.
